Take your time. Your Ledger device will guide you through the setup directly on its screen.

Write down your recovery phrase
Your device will show 24 words, one at a time. Write them in order on the recovery sheet and check each word carefully. Keep it offline and somewhere secure.

Install Ledger Wallet
Download the companion app only from Ledger’s official website. Connect your device and use the app to add accounts and manage supported assets.
Important: buy from trusted sources
Only use a device purchased from Ledger or an authorized reseller. Ledger devices are not pre-configured; if a device arrives with a PIN or recovery phrase already set, do not use it.

Your recovery phrase
is the master key.
Anyone who has your 24-word recovery phrase can access your assets. Ledger will never ask you to share it—not in a call, message, email, or website.
